Charity Events – Charity When The Tall Dog started up in March 2013, we were determined not only to support local businesses and local people. We were determined that we wanted to help give something back to the Community (with a capital C). Alongside everything else that we offer, we organise lots of functions to raise money for charity – sometimes local charities, sometimes people in time of need, sometimes local branches of national/global charities.
We always try to network between the businesses we work with and local people, bringing them together, and trying to get them involved in whatever we are organising for charity.
We dedicated our first Open Day to raising money for Chloe’s New Legs. The Tall Dog persuaded local businesses to donate raffle prizes; we offered face painting and cookie decorating and there were stalls run by local suppliers.
We raised over £200. Some of this went towards Chloe’s aftercare and some helped others needing the same treatment as Chloe, which was fantastic.
A little after our shop and business centre’s 1st Birthday we are delighted that we have raised just over £2,000 to date for a variety of charities across the local area.
We are still just as determined about raising awareness about some little-known charities and making as much money as possible, however we can, to help them. We continue to organise a range of events: look on the section on Upcoming Events. And keep posted on Facebook, too.
