AFTER launching her new business enterprise with some help from Chloe Humphrey, Vicki Harrison explains what her new Midhurst firm is all about.

“We are opening a place where people can come and find out what trades and services we have in Midhurst …

“With businesses that join the directory, they will have a portfolio put together.

“In effect, I then become their talking Tall Dog business card. I will talk to people about them and
what they do. This helps small businesses with that first initial contact with people, an area where they can sometimes struggle.”

But this is not the only service Vicki will offer at the Tall Dog. There will be a job vacancies board for companies and jobseekers, and she will try to match people with the right jobs.

“The sole aim of the business is to get local businesses to use each other, making people aware of the huge wealth of local resources we
have and what people can offer,” Vicki says.

“People can’t afford massive advertising campaigns, especially small businesses, which is why I am trying to work with them to get them connected with other small businesses. Hopefully they will build their businesses, too.”

The opening on Sunday was ‘a great success’, and raised money for the Chloe’s New Legs, the campaign to pay for the aftercare needed by the 17-year-old after her life-changing operation.

There were many activities at The Tall Dog’s launch, which gave the public a chance to find out what the business is all about.

“It’s a bit of an all-round shop/community business hub for everyone, and we hope that as people start to understand what we do, and how we work, we can build a bigger directory for the public to see,” said
Mrs Harrison.

“We also work with a number of local artists, photographers and craftspeople, with handmade crafts and gifts on display for people to buy, too.”

The Tall Dog is open for business from Monday to Friday, at Apsley House, Church Hill in Midhurst.
